Been wanting a green suit for awhile and came across a nice one with subtle window pane striping @ a Goodwill this week. Seems like most of my summer weight jackets-most of which were thrifted have window pane. But don't like solid colors. This was a Johnny Carson one. Didn't realize he had his own line. Earl

More for candy. The mold is too small for cakes.

While I was at my car clubs National show I did what any good Lounger would do-went and hit the antique stores. I picked up a stove timer and a cigarette case which I think is period deco-or a really good copy. The tie I picked up at boutique along with a hat. Do the timers work like the ones on the period stoves? I have the instructions for one that is similar to mine (Gaffers and Sattler).

The clock should work the same. You only have three knobs there so you have few enough choices to experiment though. I know the middle one is likely to set the time. I think the one on the right should be to set the minute timer. The one on the right might be to set the hours timer. I am just guessing though---based on what I see. If I have the manufacturer it might be easier to check.

James, it is an 'everhot' timer and it does work. I set the time and it powered my electric fan but failed to shut it off. So I am must be doing something wrong. Like you said, there are only three choices so I will play around a bit and see if I can figure it out.

According to my research, this whistle is at least 100 years old. And it still sounds great!

I collected waaaay too many Nordic Ware shaped cake pans and had to purge (pun intended), but I never had that one. It's called the Sweet Rides Classic Car pan.

30 cup! Great find. You usually find the 18 and 20 cup ones out here.

Nice finds Shangas. Those dental tools come in handy.

I found this at a thrift store today. Not my usual art book but I can't resist any author or artist signed book...in this case artist signed.





It also had a print inside, signed by the artist as well. In addition, in the middle of the book, there is another inscription to 'Jim' signed by a different person. Does this signature mean anything to anyone? It's not the artist's or the author's. It's on a page illustrating some Spitfires and an ME 109. It's an odd place to find a signature.

I like tinkering with, fixing/repairing and restoring stuff, as some people on the Lounge might know. Many people I've spoken to have suggested that dental picks/tools are ideal for work like this, since they're naturally used to small, cramped spaces.

Next time I get my hands on something to fiddle with, we'll see if they're right!

Wow! Forty-three dollars! I paid $15 for mine.
