I had this hat professionally cleaned, reblocked, and a new sweat installed (by Mike Miller at Northwest Hats). As much as I like the results, I just don't think I can pull off wearing this much hat. As you can see, it has nice straight sides, an awesome flange job, and is in excellent condition for a +/- 55-year-old hat. There are a couple of faint smudges that resisted Mike's cleaning efforts, but they are on the underside of the brim and are barely noticeable.
Felt quality is nice, too. Not over-shellacked and rigid like new ones.
Brim is 2 7/8, crown as creased is 4 1/2, and has more felt to play with.
Head opening is 8 3/16 by 6 1/2.
Liner is in great shape, with a few foxing lines just above the sweat on one side.
If you've been wanting a "go to" vintage hat in this nice large size, consider this one. I'd like to sell this to a fellow Lounger, so PM me if you're interested for $125 shipped conUS.
