I have an old internal Stetson book with photos of a Stetson panama buyer in Ecuador. The women in the photo are wearing cholas (bowlers), which are described in the caption as Borsalinos. Now I know why.

Thanks - very interesting read. I hear quality was much better before they moved into that new-fangled factory in 1888.
