His name is Julian and he does a lot of street art in Europe. I've only met him once but I've seen his stuff at least a dozen times. A friend said he was in NYC last year. He always draws a crowd and leaves with a lot of coin.

Are his works as delightful in person as they are on film? I assume the angle of the camera helps the illusion, so I am curious if it is as popping as it seems in the photos or if it is more flat in real life.

LH, they are marvelous and they do pop in person but I think that viewing the works on film serves to enhance, just a bit, as it allows one to disassociate from the reality of the venue. Every town should have a Chalk Guy.

Those are amazing! Especially the variations of the DIES IRAE motif.
Had the opportunity to see quite a few pieces of street art during a recent art festival near my university; quite nice, but nothing compared to these...hell, I´d be sure to avoid stepping on the painting, not to fall into it - trompe l´oeil at its finest.

Regards, A.
