This is a Royal Stetson ******* that was once a 7 1/8. I sent it to Optimo in Chicago to have it resized & refurbished. It now has a 2" Optimo sweatband & the original Royal Stetson liner resewn into the crown.
The brim is 2 1/4", the ribbon is 1 9/16". The brim has the *******s' characteristic row of stitching along the edge.
There is a 1/8" band of ever so slight discoloration just north of the ribbon, difficult to see even in the brightest light, but present.
This is a lovely soft felt that feels the equal of my vintage Borsalinos. Very thin & feather light yet can take and hold a different crease every day.
A great hat, but 2 1/4" is just too stingy to work for me & I am trying to raise capital for, what else, a hat!
I paid Optimo a c-note for the refurb not to mention the postage & original auction price so I would like to see if I might recover at least the cost of the refurbishment... so, first $100 + shipping? PayPal. PM me if interested.
