Stetson Help?

My daughter got me this wonderful Stetson as a Christmas Present. It's my first "old" hat in my collection. With all the wisdom that graces this forum, I was wondering if anybody could help me understand what I have. i.e. how old is it, is it rare? I've done some googling, but keep coming up short. I appreciate any tidbits you can muster up. Thanks in advance. TK

Welcome to the Lounge, kowalskt63! There are a lot of people with a lot more knowledge than me here, and I'm sure they'll chime in when they get around to it, but here's my novice opinion:

Based on the crown height (relatively low), the black ribbon, and the modern looking logo, I'm going to say late 1960's or 1970's. A nice hat, but not particularly old or rare. If it fits, wear it and enjoy!

hiya, lets see, royal deluxe was at one time one of the highest quality hats by stetson. I don't know when they stopped using it, i thought the late 50's. The hat was orig. bought at Bernie Utz, quite a well known hat shop in Seattle. that's all for now except it looks like a fine hat.

Check the liner

to see if it is sewn in or glued in. If sewn in, it most likely pre 1960s. Also look under the sweatband to see if there are any tags with dates on them. Other than that you need a stetsonite to look it over.

BTW.. Looks nice, but I think that is not the original shape. It' looks like it has been reblocked to me . I could be wrong about that. It just does not look like a factory block to me. Nothing wrong with that. It's a swell hat.
