Stetson that was up for bid

Did anyone here on the Lounge win the Stetson Royal De Luxe that was on eBay? The bid ended today 01-05-08. The hat came from the Palace store in Emporia, KS.

Ha, Emporia --I used to live near there and it was where we did our grocery shopping every weekend. Somehow, I doubt that the place where this particular specimen was sold all those decades ago is still around.

Thanks for the info. I was watching it to see how it did but ended before I could see the how high it was going. I grew up in Emporia and I remember the Palace store downtown. I am surprise the hat went for so high of a price. Topeka also had a Palace store and I have a Stetson that was sold from them in the early 50's. I found mine in an antique store in Topeka.

feltfan, I am not surprised by the worth of the hat; I own one and it is one of my favorites (it is in my avatar). You are quite right. My point was that I was surprised it was that price on eBay - especially after the holidays. Though there is one out there now at $145.

Bud-n-Texas' hat is a beauty.
