Glider yes about the revolvers! Good eye!
S1 his revolver is a Smith & Wesson Model 66 .357 Magnum with 4 inch barrel in stainless steel with walnut grips.
S2 it is switched (don't know why) to a Colt Python .357 Magnum with 4 inch barrel, nickel plated, with walnut grips with the gold Colt medallion. (BTW this same revolver, but with a 6 inch barrel, is Rick Grimes' weapon on Walking Dead.)
His belt changes too, I wonder why.
Back to the hat, I read the very interesting article linked to above. I also found this podcast where David Harbour talks a bit more about the hat, about his being convinced that the character needed an iconic hat, and his difficultly convincing the Duffer brothers, who were very much against the character having a hat.
