Very nice, Brent. Interesting you posted this one, because it has the same code-number (111147) as the blue one I posted above. That points towards some models being in production for more years.

Thanks, Stefan. I'm sure you find such hats at the bottom of a barrel and pay 5 dollars for each, any time you want.

    Alterations! *gasp*
On second thought, that's what I should've called my upsizings.

You caught me. This pre-war nutria Borsalino is going to be altered. :)

Actually, I see these newer black Borsalinos, I suspect made for a religious market, show up at great prices all the time. They have lots of taper and lots of brim. I’m sending this hat to Ralph for him to convert into an Alessandria/Open Road clone. Who needs to pine for a black Campdraft when I can have a Borsalino for less!

An unlined Borsalino Vicuña. Comfortable, soft, and light are good ways to describe this one.

The best I could do on the tag at the moment. The ribbon is sewn through the sweatband it seems. Looks like “M.Antracite”

Superb, Tonio! The misto antracite colour is one we've not seen before.

Picked this one up this week. A tad small on me and already have one like this, so it's going again.
Borsalino Ardilla in Mogano colour. Size 56 with the overwelt brim at 5,5cm and the crown 11 cm at the center dent. The felt is fantastic: a real petting hat. Someone decided to perforate the sweatband for some reason, but that's a minor flaw. Dates from 1979.

Super Borsalino hat box with key and all the trimmings, Tonio. The bowler looks tiny. Is it an optical allusion?

Ha thanks, that’s a standard size bowler. The case is large. It’s about 12-1/2” tall and 18” wide.

So what happened? Did you like the Bogart by Borsalino?

Thank you. This came from Torino. An elderly woman passed away, her grandson who was cleaning out her house had it for sale.
