Did you see it? I started watching it on cable a few weeks ago.
I lost interest in it very quickly. It looked like a bad Raiders imitation.

I didn't. It looks dreadful. It was directed by Russell Mulcahy who hacked his way through a bunch of those silly Highlander movies and The Shadow and this other mummy movie. He should stick to music videos and pepsi commercials. ;)

I guess this guy is hellbent on draining all the life out of The Mummy story. :eusa_doh:
I love escapism too but do not insult me with it!:)

Don't do it! Don't waste your time on this dreck! I taped it, then foolishly watched it. The entire thing! Why?! Why did I do that?! That's two hours of my life I can never get back! It's so bad that it's not even worth watching for the costuming. It makes Patrick Swayze's King Solomon's Mines look like Oscar material.

Oh, it was ok to a little past the midpoint, then I swear they forgot what the heck they were doing. I, too, taped it and watched it. Like I said in the OTHER review of this program when it was aired, I'd like to watch it again without all the dang commercials. I swear, if Hallmark eliminated the commercial breaks, their 'original movies' are actually only 45 minutes long. The rest of the 2 to 2.5 hours are taken up by advertisements. Drives me nuts!

Anyway, they definitely had a budget to burn, and it was definitely used up making this thing. Chewing gum for the mind....but that's about it. It's still not as bad as all that, at least in my opinion....if you close one eye, squint with the other, and leave your glasses off.:p ;)

It sure didn't take them long to get this to the DVD market, did it?

Regards! Michaelson
