The Japanese term for restrained elegance is Shibui. It is really a high compliment when something is said to posess this and IMHO your hat sure does. The look of a Panama with an Optimo block is classically beautiful and this felt makes the grade.

Alan, you said you know you won't run into anybody with the same hat and my friend, you might have spoken a bit hastily.

I told Art that when people see how great this hat looks there might be a sudden surge in optimo blocked felt orders. He wasn't sure, but it may happen yet. Of course, he'd have better luck if his hat was on a better looking model.

From my newbie standpoint, I say "absolutely", but are there some unofficial criteria a hat needs to meet in order to be considered for your LE collection?

Well, the selfish side of me says 'no way--that's my hat!', but the egotistical side of me would like the satisfaction of having had a part in spawning a Limited Edition. I'm pleased that you'd even consider it.
