Hello fellow Lounge members,

I wanted to start this thread because this issue has been brought up in a couple of other threads and I felt it is important to make this topic its own thread. On this forum, there are so many members who have put in countless hours, research, money, and love into posting information on the history of hat manufactures, changes in styles, dating hats, etc. The issue of a possible book or guide has been brought up before. I feel with all of the knowledge and research that has been done on this forum, it would be possible to write a short or long book about the true history of the fedora. Starting from its roots, the various advertisements through the years, dating a hat based on features, history of hat manufactures, and etc. There is currently no book on the market which is a comprehensive guide to the fedora as a whole. Such books as "Hatless Jack," have touched on a history of hatting, but really makes no mention as to how someone would date a hat, or a style guide, etc. Would any loungers be willing to spend some time and write a real "guide" on the fedora? I know I would be willing to do research, go through threads, and contact hat companies. I think it would not only be informative for lounge members, but for the rest of the world. Maybe I'm thinking large scale here, but it could possibly be the first step in "getting America back into hats." By the way, the title that I used for the thread is by no means an actual title of anything, its simply an idea for a possible book title. Let me know what you guys think about a collective book writing effort. I think it would be really worth it.
