So we all know that Kathryn Bigelow won the Oscar the other night, but who out there can forget (or remember) one of her very first films:

Ive always been a big fan of Strange Days myself.
One of *the best* modern movie kisses is in that film. Plus lots of fights

My two favorites are "Point Break" and "Near Dark". The first is the movie that made Keanu Reeves a bankable star rather than just a stoner, and the second is the best, most stylish vampire movie ever made. The roadhouse scene is unforgettable. Ms. Bigelow has a directing style all her own and it's about time people recognized it.
