I'm pleased to see THE AVIATOR and THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST... but no "Sky Captian" for Special Effects?

It's a pleasent surprise to seen "F911" has been neglected.

That's odd...the news here was reporting that The Passion of the Christ wasn't nominated for anything.

They also said the reason 911 wasn't nominated was because it was shown on tv (prior to election).

It seems like the passion was out ages ago, but then I thought about it and it was only Ash Wednesday last year. I wonder how many awards it'll win. Make up maybe? Man that movie... I almost want to shield my eyes at the thought of it.

No Sky Captain!? Man, that one was a special effects monster. This is reaffirming my dislike for the modern Academy Awards.

Never saw F911, but I'm still mad at Moore for stealing Ray Bradbury's title, blast it all!

Moore did not want his film to compete in the Documentary (which it is not) and since the Acadamy does not currently have a catagory for Anti-American socialist claptrap with no thought to the truth... it was not nominated.

Rumor! Streisand, Sarandon et al are pleading for such a category for future Oscar contention.

Now, now. Let's not lump everyone together. I'm the socialist. Moore is a progressive.

I don't think he needs awards for the film anyway. It served his purposes. Making a big deal over it still after election year has passed is sort of arbitrary.

Here's a theory I have: Is there any chance that Moore has been disqualified from receiving an Academy Award because there was a controversy over his propaganda Flick "Bowling For Columbine"?

There was an investigation that proved that this motion picture couldn't be awarded for "Best Documentary" because Moore distorted many facts and outright misrepresented quotes and events.

I am extremely disappointed in the Costume Design nominees. In my opinion, Finding Neverland should never have been considered. What happened to Phantom and De-Lovely?
