Type I leather jackets

Hiya, does anyone have any recommendations for brands that make type 1 leather jackets?

I'm aware of Fine Creek, Y'2 and Real McCoy's offerings, would just like to know if anyone else makes them.

I'm looking to get one in brown either new or second hand. If new, I'll probably wait until I'm next in Japan for work and visit a Y'2/Fine Creek store.

Thanks all!

Warehouse used to have them. Probably made by someone else though. https://www.thefedoralounge.com/thr...-2147-horsehide-type-1-jacket-size-42.116175/

There is also Studio D'artisan, which I believe is made by Y'2: https://jp.mercari.com/item/m15459561082

Johnson leather also has this: https://johnsonleather.com/products/type-1-black-phantom-horsehide but only size L left. You could have them make a custom jacket as well.
Thanks for all these! I'm thinking of getting both a brown and a black one and the Studio D'Artisan seems to fit the bill. How do you know it's made by Y'2? Additionally, do you know if the quality of the leathers are comparable?

Just a guess and based on reading this forum and superfuture forum. There are two big japenese workshops that made jackets for others that are Y'2 leather workshop and Rainbow country workshop. RC made stuffs for colimbo, Freewheelers for instance. Because this Studio D'artisan piece is hand-dyed which is something Y'2 do (like kakishibu dye) but RC doesn't seem to, I'm guessing Y'2 makes jacket for Studio D'artisan. This is just an educated guess though.

I'm not sure if you can still get a Studio D'artisan jacket in leather. They seems to be made only for special occasions like the 45th brand anniversary. You should go for Y'2: https://y-2leather.com/en/products/88

Right understood. The one you linked on Mercari is still available so I may buy it. Will consider the Y'2, thank you.

Aditionally, do you know if the hand painted SDA jacket will darken with age? I appreciate you may not know and no worries if that's the case!

I have seen those yes, they mention a patina although nothing beyond that.

Yes! Moving out there in November, I'm just being impatient, the smart decision is to hold off until I can try things on there, plus I'll save a million quid on import duties.
