These are interesting shoes. They are obviously very high quality. The leather that goes in the heel is missing so I can not tell the manufacturer. The heel is obviously newer, so I don't think they are vintage. They are fully leather lined, and the bottom is the standard leather piece, without the heel covering bit.
The funny thing is the heel is worn down a bit, but the inside of the shoe is perfectly smooth meaning that it does not have any of the contouring that comes from a shoe forming to the wearer's foot. So they should be perfectly capable of forming to fit yours with no discomfort or lumps in the wrong spot.
Also, the leather looks extremely good, almost new. So I can not figure out why the heel is worn, unless it is just true that british shoes take a long time to break in.
Maybe the owner wore a thick insole so it never formed to his foot.
At any rate, you will maybe want to take them to a cobbler for some new rubber on the heels and the leather in the heel maybe or maybe an insole, but you will leave with some fantastic shoes. That will maybe cost you twenty to forty bucks I think. I just picked them up to pass along so I am pricing them at a price you can afford to have them fixed.
The sole has a biltrite kevlar rubber piece installed. I don't know if this was done originally or they were worn then reheeled.
But again, the condition is amazing. The leater seems almost new. the guy must have taken amazing care of them, or maybe had them completely refurbished.
The inside is fully leatehr lined. It says Made in England 274005 11 769/05
I am assuming the 11 means size. I don't know if it is English or American sizing though.
They measure 12 5/8 inches heel to toe. 4 3/4 at the widest part of the sole. Inside they measure 12 inches toe to heel.
