I don't think so, at least not for new construction; they don't meet safety codes, and you can't insulate the darned things.

I lucked up on a fellow throwing out about 100 of the green panes....I took them all home, and used some to repair the windows in my 1963 Shasta Compact camper, and used some others to make some art deco shelving in my kitchen.

Ghostsoldier: Perfect imagery... It all reminded me of the motels we stayed in on family vacations in the South.

Here's one of my favorites, I'm a little disappointed to find it unlit.

Here it is lit up, from a visit a couple of years back.

Passed this one today, too. I'm guessing that strategically placed street light means this is dead neon too. What a shame.

Unfortunately I wasn't there at night to see them lit up but here's a few from recent trips. The Pastime Cafe is in Walla Walla, WA and is up for sale. It began either in the 20's or 30's (don't remember) and looks like a time capsule of that era. Any loungers with restaurant experience could open a nice place there. The Stardust and Stein signs are from Wallace, ID, another time capsule town.

That Pastime sign is awesome, but that little flying saucer under the Stardust takes the cake.

I thought that Stardust font looked familiar....

This company makes them: http://www.milgard.com/catalog/windows/style/jalousie/ There are other companies making them. So they are still being used by enough people!

:arated: I love that someone had to make a decision to buy that thing (or have it fabricated) how many years ago and, to this day, they have still maintained it. Can't you hear it: "Tim, I need you to sweep up in front, move all those boxes upstairs and, then, in the afternoon I need you to paint the flying saucer."

The Tuscany® Jalousie Window is only available in Hawaii.

Apparently, only the folks in the 50th state can buy them! :)

Might not be neon, per se, but they are old.....
