That is really a marvelous collection!

Have never seen virtually any of those before, and the ad history contained is fascinating of itself, revealing how we liked to see ourselves.

I have nothing pre-WW1, but scouted up a few pre-WWII from the Esquire archives. These are from '33 and '34, FWIW.

The spade sole seen in the top two is beginning to be seen in more footwear, and is becoming a fashion hallmark of some period footwear.
