Will do. He is busy so told him not to rush so it may be a day or more. The other colours were just the usual suspects....greys and mid brown and a silverbelly. He will likely get more but he has no date for that. I want something a little out of the ordinary but not a 'fashion' colour. This blue/green might be it or it might be too weird to match with any clothing.

It sounds like it could be an interesting color...sorry colour. :)
The long queue is a bit of a disappointment. He has a hat of mine on the block right now, and as soon as it comes off I have others going on, but those are from October. David said he was looking to take on some help so hopefully he can get his delivery times back close to what they used to be. It will be interesting to see where David takes VS, and I hope he regularly updates the website.

Along with the normal Winchester felts, VS now has a few FEPSA 100% beaver hat bodies, and David plans of getting more in the future.

These are the FEPSA colors currently in stock:

I don’t know the names of the colors nor do I have any other details.

I am thinking the first one is the blue/green colour David told me about. Three is Silverbelly and Four is what he described as Camel but darker than the Winchester offering. Five is an interesting Brown but do I need another brown hat is the question.

I agree. Of them all, the blue-green first hat looks like a real possibility.

Hi
I'm on the fence. I have a really soft dress weight Fedora from Tony at Tumwater hats that I really like. If those are as soft as that, a crossover Western that's actually soft would be great. I'm not betting though.

I bought this Stetson Sovereign Twenty last year. It was in great shape, but the ribbon was a two cord western that was tied in a crude knot. This hat deserved something better. I sent it to VS for a new ribbon. This is David’s VS after Art’s departure. David found some great vintage ribbon for me. The ribbon is called “teal” and I was terrified it was going to be some lurid garish color. I trusted David and the results are proof that I was right to do so. Thanks, David! Long live VS!

That looks KILLER Brent! Fantastic job. Thank goodness it isn’t actually teal! LOL! Really looks great on you.

A couple of real winners. It is good to see David is continuing the tradition!

This has been a 5 or 6 hat week for you, Brent. It really is an early Christmas for you.

This hat started life as a 1950s Stetson No. 1 Quality hat. The felt was in fine condition so worth saving. I sent it off to VS and had David remake it. It has a 6” open crown, 3.5” bound brim, and a matching ribbon with a campaign bow.

Very happy with how it turned out. Thank you, David!

The last of my three hats from VS: This was a gamble. I bought two 100% nutria hat bodies from Sunrise Hat Supply and the felt in the “almond” color went off the VS. I asked for a six inch open crown on a #52 block. The brim has narrow tone-on-tone binding and is finished at 3 1/8 inches. The felt isn’t bad, but it isn’t exceptional either (more in the Sunrise Hat Supply thread):

It looks really good, though. The color looks almost taupe.

Has anyone heard from Art lately? He last contacted me on March 12th and he’s not responding to my PMs. The only other contact information I have for him was his shop at VS which he is no longer associated with.
