What do people recommend? Already have a Tilley which isn't really vintage. Saw some cotton vintage hats in the film The English Patient and Clint Eastwood wears one in White Hunter Black Heart...

Is there a classic 1930's to 1950's cotton hat look or a model which is similar to some originals?

I figured cotton wouldn't excite people the way fur felt does. Thanks Belly.

I guess I'm thinking more of hats which don't try too hard to immitate a fedora - and less stiff.

More in the cotton tilley vein, but more classic...

I've seen stingy and wide brims. Maybe I should just look at the Lock and Co summer range.

Cheers - Seb.

Seb-
Try also ebay.co.uk, and look at cotton/cloth hats-
there are some styles you won't see on .com,
some that nay be a little more English bush hat.

RBH- you're welcome.
These have been mentioned recently in another thread
but I can't remember which.
Apparently, they're a little more synthetically lined/sweatbanded
than vintage ones but my vintage one does have a "leatherette" sweat.
Lined with thin cork in the crown and brim.
