Watched this for the first time since they cancelled the 4:30 Movie. (Moment of silence, fellow gothamites) Is it me or was Alan Arkin doing his best to mimic Richard Widmark?

I saw it years ago, don't remember the Widmark imitation, but do remember what a creepy character Arkin played, and that it was the only moviesI ever saw that made me jump two feet out of my chair at one point.
