Western, anyone?

Check out the low crowned and wide brim Westerns on this 1955 Rock A Billy band...
This made me laugh and go oooooooh, and owwwwwww at the same time. Their outfits and especially the hats look.....well..........goofy..........and the way they wear them......seems like the those that wear the ball caps backward! Of course I could never really get into that very low crown and wide brim look.........;)
M
And, well, how DID they keep their hats on????o_O

Love the music.........but not my style of hat.

If anyone cares..........Rockabilly, Outlaw Country, Honky Tonk, Western Swing have all been classified as Ameripolitan Music by Texas singer Dale Watson. Dale promotes some good old fashioned Country music by new artists with the Ameripolitan awards. If you like country music but don't like what is coming out of Nashville these days check out this site.

Agree, the current crop sounds more pop than country. Jamie Johnson and Chris Stapleton have that old-time feeling in their voices.

I can see why you reach for that one. That is such a good crease for that hat. The color is nice also, and goes good with the vest. The felt looks very well finished.

Thanks, Dd. It is a nicely finished hat and I like the color not being the standard silverbelly. I'll try to find the right light soon and do a close up. There are a quite a few different colored fibers in the felt. Not exactly heather like but similar.

Picked this hat up at a local boot shop that was going out of business early last year. Crystal with a chocolate trim. It’s labeled as a 5x from Victor’s Just Boots. I’ll miss the ol place used to walk in and purchase new old stock beaver hat brand lids, Nocona belts, and other great finds.

That's nice, the colors look very dressy to me. What a great find.

I like a wide ribbon and bound brim in contrasting colors on a western. That one looks great and as Ddog said, dressy.
