I feel like I've come home. The first hat I ever bought was a Western style. No name, generic cheapy. Probably more wool or synthetic than felt. Bought it with the last £10 I had in my wallet when I was about 16/17 years old. Still have it.
Anyway, a lot of folks on this thread know me in several other more formal English/ European style lids. Thanks to the kindness of Bob Hufford, I'm glad to be sporting this modern Stetson Open Road 4x Beaver Silver Belly!
Hope it will be the first of many Western style hats vintage or otherwise [emoji145][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

One of the fundamental learning experiences for us all when riding two wheels! After that experience, you can officially claim that you are no longer a novice rider!

No excuses now, Steve. You will have to participate with the rest of us in Western Wednesdays.

A fine looking hat, and you wear it well. I have a couple of 4X ORs. I liked the one so much, I bought another. I think you will enjoy it.

Dang, that strongly IMPLIES that I'm supposed to wear Fedoras or Bowlers or some such the other 6 days a week. Ummm, I have two (2), i.e. a couple of Fedoras, so it's Western weeks for me. I do have GOOD fedoras, a Tumwater and a work of Art.

You're a natural underneath that OR! It definitely suits you well! You need to add a few more Westerns to your collection!

Would love to see more Bowlers but, just as we have National Hat Day once a year, we wear hats every day. Western Wednesdays (or Whippet Wednesdays) do not preclude Westerns (or Whippets) every day of the week! The Fort Worth Stock Show kicked off this past week and I am sure I'll be in Westerns more in the coming weeks myself.

A couple of great hats, Randy. How wide is the brim on the 100?

3 3/4 total. Art took about 1/2 for the curl so it is now about 3 1/4 to the edge of the curl.

    Let’s see those innards.
    Damn fine 100!!
Never knew the 100 went out to 3 3/4”.
I suppose it would need a special sized case.
    Kickass!!

Beaver 100, so it is late in the series.
