Change of tack, chaps. Sorry about that but this is a sample of what has been revolving around my turntable this morning:

Incidentally, the photographs shown throughout the video are of the English Peak District. The same area of England where William Lennon Boots are made. Pretty, ain't it?

Deep into the 1920s we go....1927... who's wonderful? who's marvelous?

On my local NPR station (WYPR) we have Ken Jackson's "In The Mood" Big Band programming. It plays at a delightfully late time of night when the city lights are shimmering, and I'm taking my enchanting girlfriend back home. It feels positively like a classic picture! Also, the man who runs it (Ken Jackson) is 72 and has a delightfully deep and rambling voice. It's like another time.

Dinu Lipatti playing Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto No.1. The tragically short life of Romanian Lipatti nevertheless gave us perhaps the very finest pianist that ever walked God's Earth, though undoubtedly many will disagree. His playing, at the very least, is utterly magnificent!

I'm looking for who sang a song called Bumble Bee from around 10 or 15 years ago. I believe there was a review of the album in Swing Time magazine. A woman sang it but I don't know if she was under a band name or just her name. Not a lot to go on but does anyone have any idea who did it? Thanks
