In my opinion the best example of a ballad played at a faster tempo is ****-Sanders Alone At Last (1925).

I listen a lot to Wieteke, she is very sick, and most likely she will not make it, she was in my childhood very important in all kinds of children's programs, but also when my parents where little she also did a lot of childrens programs and because she came from Nederlands-Indië she did a lot for the indonesian folk here in holland

Jimmy Sabater has passed away, not that many would know who he is. What’s eerie to me is that I was just listening to “A Man Ain’t Supposed To Cry” On my way into work this morning. There aren't any double/triple threat artists of his caliber around these days. Both of these tunes are from the same record.

As I was going through some of Jimmy’s music in my ipod, I came across a favorite song: Never Let Me Go. I almost never think of it when rummaging through my mind with regards to my favorites, but it’s a classic (almost noir-like) tune, and I love it. I had to look it up on wiki to see that Jay Livingston and Jacob Levison wrote it. They also wrote ‘Whatever Will Be, Will Be’, ‘Mona Lisa’, ‘Buttons & Bows’, the Christmas song ‘Silver Bells’, and the themes to ‘Bonanza’ and ‘Mr. Ed’. I prefer “Never Let Me Go” by a stretch to all of those other songs, though I do enjoy “Mona Lisa”.

Anyway, here are three master renditions of it. These are the three I am familiar with (they’re in my collection), but I did also hear a killer version by Bill Evans on Youtube.
