I've been listening to one of Sting's kids this week - and they sound just like their dad. The album is already 8 or 9 years old and most of the tracks make me think Sting started working with Coldplay, but this one is a bit harder.

Of interest mostly because they sound so much alike, though I also happen to like the kid's music.

I can legitimately wear the t-shirt!

The first time I saw him was at the Rubber Bowl in Akron opening for The Dead. TP & the Heartbreakers were his band, and he sat in with the Dead on Little Red Rooster, Don't Think Twice, It's All Right, and It's All Over Now, Baby Blue.

The second time, he played for about an hour and left. No encore.

Me too.

Incredible lyrics & songwriting that just keeps evolving.
I had tickets to see him in London with my brother (who was living there) in the ‘90s, but there was a mix-up with the dates and the concert happened after I’d already flown back to New Zealand. It ended up going to a friend of my brother’s.
Still bugs me to this day.

Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton & Linda Ronstadt — Mr Sandman (1981)
The 1940s setting of the video is a bit anachronistic as the song came out in 1954 as well as its reference to Liberace who was still relatively unknown in 1946. Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt were uncredited when this recording was originally released due to contractual issues.
