What Color Brim/Ribbon for a Stylemaster?

I am currently debating what color of band to put on a Moonstone Grey Akubra Stylemaster. I figure somewhere between Black and Dark Grey. I want the hat to be versatile, able to wear it with my black suits, as well as my Charcoal suits and Grey suits. Additionally, though I realize a dark band would not be perfect, I would like to be able to wear it with a Navy suit.

Could anyone let me know their thoughts on Black vs. Dark grey Ribbon/Brim on an Akubra Stylemaster for the purposes listed above?

I ordered a medium grey stylemaster last month. I went with the brim ribbon to match the hat color and a black ribbon around the crown instead of the matching ribbon. I wanted some contract but to me I thought the brim ribbon would look better the same color as the hat.
Last week a received a e-mail from everything australian telling me my hat will arrive sometime around the beginning of January. I can't wait because this will be my first felt hat.

I ordered two Stylemasters a few days back, but had no idea one could designate the ribbon color -- I wasn't presented that option.

I am debating whether to confirm the change, or to ask if they could do a dark grey.

Also - Could anyone else give me their thoughts on having the brim contrast the body of the hat, and match the ribbon? or whether they feel the brim looks best matching (as close as possible) the body, with a ribbon of a contrasting color.

Also: there is no option on any of the websites, I requested information on whether they could do this or not from the customer service email address. I hope no one gets unhappy over this, its just a new option they seem to be able to do on special order. See my post on "Akubra Value is soaring right now" on how I requested the different band.

I would order that hat with any color ribbon and change it, myself, after I received it. A Cranberry-Maroon shade ribbon with the gray hat body works well for suits and can also be used with casual clothing. It may seen strange,at first thought, but it's a very versatile color combination. I would leave the brim ribbon a matching shade for the hat body.

Stoney is absolutely correct. If you can't change the ribbon yourself, there are plenty of folks on the Lounge who can help you get this done. Maroon and Grey are a terrific color combination.

Either will go with charcoal, grey or navy suits. Black and dark grey are both neutral with those colors so it's really a matter of how much contrast you like between your band and the hat.

I know this has nothing to do with the original topic anymore, and perhaps this is redundant, as I have seen the photo of the moonstone Stylemaster shown on Hats Direct, but by default, do they ship their moonstone Stylemasters with black, or dark grey ribbons? Or, do they ask the customer for preference?

A clear answer to this would really help, thank you!

The most flexible colour, imo, would be a silver-grey close to the shade of the hat itself. Black and darker greys are grand with blues, greys, blacks, greens.... but for brown tones, the silver-grey is best. That would make it the most flexible. Just the one caveat to that: a silver-grey ribbon will show sweat marks....
