Perry & Alan - thanks for the comments

Joao - looks good. The key to photographing black hats must be Portuguese sunshine :)

David - that star cap is a beauty.

Rick - the Borso looks really good.

Kenneth - really nice homburg and a great job on the steam and re-shape.

Michael - the Strat looks great. Perfect brim tilt too.

Thanks on the compliments on that black gold.

ManofKent: The sunshine helps a lot on black felt :)

Now that would make a terrific snowblower hat!
Thx Joao for your advice on the ruggedness of the Akubra Sombrero. I'll be ordering one shortly

I wouldn't use it for that. I believe the Akubra is more capable suited as the black gold is more of a... dress hat and a Sombrero is cheaper.

Today another black gold

Richard and Manfred, thank you for the comments on the Premiere Strat.

Miamibruno--great looking Lee. It looks very close in color to the Trinity I have.

hatophile--the lines on your OR 25 are perfect.

Andy--wearing a featherweight I see. It must be getting warmer there. Good looking Squatter in a nice shade of gray.

Joao--ah, the black gold. Perfect hat for you.

I went back 60years or more and wore the JBS Stratoliner this morning. With unseasonably warm weather right now, I may be wearing a straw hat by afternoon.

Miami - the Trinity tops off that great outfit perfectly.

Perry - good looking OR

Andy - I'm surprised at how much crown height there is when they're not telescoped.

Joao - the black golds definitely suit you.

g.d. - great photo. Great hat.

Justin - nice stetson.

I have more comfortable hats than those black golds, so I don't think they're perfect but do have a nice felt.

Joao, nice one!!
Yes it is really nice. ;)

You're quite the Black Gold miner, Joao.
Got those two for very cheap ($100-$120) + shipping. Can't find more at that price... I remember one of them had a buy it now very low and I didn't hesitate :)

Joao - the black golds definitely suit you.
Black hats yes.

Tomorrow I'm gonna cross the Tagus River suspension bridge on foot. Must choose a hat with chin strap.

ManofKent I really dig that corduroy jacket, any chance that's new and can be got somewhere or is it vintage?

It's Ralph Lauren Polo - I picked it up new off ebay (US) in January - the seller had a few in different sizes that they'd presumably picked up from a sale outlet (knocked down from $400 to $150)- I think it's last years model. Drop me a PM and I'll trawl through emails to see if I can find the seller's details.

Richard - the squatter is a BIG hat. By far the largest overall of the hats I own. And even though it's really large, I like it quite a bit. The featherweight felt and no liner make it a great year-round hat.

David, fine looking Cordova pie crust. I am excited to have a Cordova cap in the oven too... my first custom hat.

Thanks, Alan. Good news that you have a Cordova hat in the works. You'll love it, Jonathan's work is first class!

Great hats today, everyone!
