This is on the return trip home yesterday. We did a round trip from NY to Delaware to look at U of D with the boys. This was on 278 in Staten Island, one of the many three-lane, 24-hour parking lots we have in the NYC/metro area. We were all a little batty by this time.

Raked some of the leaves from the back yard into the front yard for the town to come and take away. Some of my trees don't shed their leaves until late in the fall, and one pin oak doesn't shed its leaves until the spring. So there will be a lot more leaves to clean up next spring.

The hat is my acorn Akubra Stylemaster.

Thanks! I really like the Australian/outback styling of this hat, and am considering the mid-brown color available thorugh one vendor here in the US.

I find it interesting that the Stylemaster is described as a city hat. I don't consider this a formal hat compared with my US-made fedoras. The typical outback hat with wide brim will just be too much hat for my short height and build. So my Stylemaster is my working hat. Good thing Akubras are known for being rugged, as this one is really getting beaten up, and continues to look good.

I wore my Mid-brown Stylemaster today with a tweed jacket and tie and slacks when I went to mass and brunch with friends.

As for why the stylemaster is called a "City" hat, consider the market it is sold in, Australia. It has a shorter brim than most hats sold over there and is considered by them to be more of a "dress/city" hat than what most folks who wear hats there wear. I would have to say that I agree as it is more of a Fedora in style and size than the usual OZ felt ie an Bushman, or Squatter or Campdraft.
