Amazing find Alan. Beautiful hat and in great condition. I was Ukraine for a while, post Soviet obviously, and was impressed by the amount of old stuff that was still seviceable. I didn't see any fedoras (plenty of proper caps though) but the amount of watches, leather goods, appliances, automobiles, etc. made me stop and think about how much we here in the U.S. take for granted and just discard. Even the cheap Chinese dollar store **** is well cared for and held onto for as long as possible.

$15 is the 1950 price tag on the inside of the hat! I paid 10 times that from a fellow Lounge Member awhile back and that was a deal for the condition it is in. Great looking Hickory Stripe jacket or shirt you have on. My favorite 8 panel cap from Simonds is made from that!

Good day folks. Cool morning, around 28'F when I headed out with the dogs. I chose a dongeal wool hat to keep me toasty.

A few snow flakes and frost last night meant the end of many seasonal plants.

I grabbed a sandwich and some coffee and ate a quick bite at a regional park by the "mighty Mississippi" shortly ago. The "mighty river" is stealthy today.

The black beast seems to have browned out nicely
