Thanks for your kind words Anthony.

You will look much better than this horror that I did to myself summer before last. What the hell was I thinking!?!?

Darn.....now I want a black cherry hat like yours, maybe with a navy ribbon !!! No, I dont want it, I MUST GET IT !!!

The original Black Cherry is a fantastic felt. I am lucky to have gotten a couple (this VS and a Penman) before Winchester changed the colour to the new darker version.

I like them both, but prefer the original.

Thanks for the comments on the Whippet from way back this morning, guys!

Would it be to much to ask you to post a pic of both colours side by side?

I might order one from Gannon hat, no the right thing is I am close to order it !!

I'll try and do tomorrow evening in natural light, I have a Black Sheep western in the new colour.

The current Black Cherry is much darker, looks black in some light.

Tommy, for your information, I have posted a link here, on the spectator shoe thread.
If you look closely you will see national flags at the top of the page, these help you with sizing, currency and shipping charges. Take a look.

Much appreciated, GHT. Thanks. Pretty reasonable, too. Well, compared to the vintage hats I wear that is.

Now, if you can direct me to a source for spade soul shoes my life would be complete!

Sorry to be repetitive, but this thing might as well be glued to my head.
The most comfy hat I've ever had.
It isn't all that affected by the wind and rain just sort of rolls of it.

And what's really weird; I've worn very flashy hats and this one gets the looks and comments on the street.
People don't blink at an orange giant brimmed hat, but this one everyone turns their heads...

Great looking hats everyone! I envy the nice collection of lids! Going with a thin ribbon later today and a repost of a '50s era Bradford Westerner 7X Quality, whatever that meant in Bradford terms back in the day...
