I almost bid on this lid,....but it's a bit too small for me and budgetary considerations also precluded my purchase of what may very well have been a white elephant.
But I wonder..........[huh] Maybe it's a respectable vintage hat, that with the right treatment could have been turned around again on ebay for a profit?

Judging by the inside photo - black sweatband and gold paper size tag - the hat is probably no more than a couple of decades old, if even that. Hard to tell if it was meant to be worn open crown or not.

Best to wait for something better to come along.:cool2:
