Hey Willy. This is a 40. I’m 175 pounds 5’9” with just over a 40” chest

The standard Hercules is a little longer than this model by roughly .5”

No idea in re water repellant. Having owned many original N-1's these are quite good repros and great for the price. They are slightly lighter weight material than the real deal or BR, RMC or others high enders. I actually prefer this as the jacket looks/drapes (on me) a little less bulky than its "supposed" to be. Just a bit.

I love mine ,I went with the wax coating, was a great choice, very warm jacket and terrific value for money.

I agree. It is thick, but not stiff or spongy. Just right. For the money, these older Vansons are the best deal out there. $300 (if you are patient) buys you a hide that can hardly be surpassed, and a very comfortable pattern.
