Late 70s LLbean goatskin flight jacket, shearling lined with mouton lambskin collar. Warm and boxy.

Where do we procure such a jacket?!
This is a Vanson Maverick.

Here's a link to their base black model. That being said, I'm pretty sure this is their old comp weight in British Racing Green. Could be Castrol Green, I guess, but I think it's BRG.

They've changed leather suppliers over the years, so I don't think its possible to get this exact jacket anymore unless you find something on the secondhand market (which is where I found mine.) I'm not sure what colors you can custom order their newer comp weight.

Oh so do I! In many ways I think they’re an even more pure and purposeful design than the cross zips. But my particular sickness is that while I admire all kinds of jacket styles and colours on others or on the hanger, I would somehow always rather be wearing a black cross zip…

Modified ‘94 Schott 618 today! My first and now only remaining Schott and many jackets later I’m beginning to realise that trying to find a Perfecto I prefer is a fool’s errand…

* Vanson - CYCLE KING ( Large )

I’m a 44 chest and this feels perfect.

The jacket fit is perfect on you. I wish my Large size would fit this way. The arms are about 1.5-2" inches long. This cycle king has been one of the better produced HD around. For the price, the jacket is solid. I have two other versions (1990) of this jacket, I purchased one online from a motorcycle dealer. The others at the HD museum shop. I just wished Vanson would have taken the time to reproduce the original belt. I have one that came with my original 1947 and 1951 version jackets. The art deco embossing on them are so cool. The Japanese HD version is nice, but they used the small size dimension sample to reproduce it. I own 3 newer Vansons. Two with the older hide and one with the newer hide. Knowing my self, a Mexico City amigo will most likely with get the new one.
The original Cycle King came out in 1946 and were outstanding. They were very symmetrical in appearance. Very pliable and towards the thinner side. My friend tried to remove the old smell from his 1946 produced jacket and used the wrong approach. The original went from a very pliable deer like hide to a very stiff hide after He used lots of water in attempts to remove the odor. I almost wacked him on the head, LOL when I saw the end results. Lucky, I was able to do heavy Manteca de res treatments, that allowed the jacket slowly recovered its flexibility.
