Literally just popped this vanson model E out the box,big thanks to Zoro who shipped it on trust, vanson chopper will be heading in opposite direction. Size 42 so tee shirt jacket 44 will be for layering. This is an older jacket, 90s with the riveted belt hangers.heavy heavy competition weight in beautiful condition. Everything is A1,,just lubed the zips,,im delighted.also a much slimmer fit all round, especially the sleeves, just perfect.

That is a beautiful Vanson! Built like a tank to provide a lifetime of service. Will only get better looking with age!

It's -8°C today, so I needed quite a bit of layering.

Chapal USAAF with the sherling collar. William Lennon boots.

I got it when they had a 40% off sale during the pandemic (and the retail price was 30% cheaper than it is today).

This is a really nice winter outfit!

I need to pull out my WL´s again. They´re just great, sturdy boots with a lot of no-nonsense appeal.

Harley Davidson Basic Skins series jacket from late 90’s to early 00’s. Whoever had it appears to have never worn it as the condition is mint for its age. It won’t win any awards but it is some of the last made in USA HD leathers and that has value to me. I will ride in it but as Aerofan_07 said, it will be a great off the bike jacket. Tried some garage pics for a change.

A short picture story....

I have had this beast before....

The Schott 613s, slim cut, size 44, steer hide the first time around.....

Time passed , sold it off, and I moved on to the regular 613 and other models

Finally arrived at the 613s again, only this time horsehide, The 613SH

First two pictures below, horsehide on the left steerhide on the right... otherwise same jacket same size.

Last three pictures, showcasing the horsehide.... showing how "wet" the leather looks, and nothing blacker, nothing compares..

As for the fit, same size, same pattern, the horsehide feels better..... It somehow conforms better, wears better, it's a whole different thing.

I wouldn't say better than the steer hide, but different in a way I prefer.
It makes what felt too roomy, too heavy hanging off my body feel just right.

Can't wait to see what the future holds as this beast comes alive on my body.....

Horse left, steer right:
