I thinkk Sumida is where RC do the finishing. For example, AFAIK Leder Ogawa also dye the Shiniki raw shell themselves.

That’s gonna spark some controversy, but I like this WAY better than it’s deerskin sibling. Deer always looks like a wet towel to me, unless it’s really, really thick.
I know, there are some keen lovers of FWs deer, and by no means I want to discredit your preferences. Just personal imPression, is all.

First go at the wool HB. WAY to warm for today. It’s low 50’s here now and I was sweating like a pig on the way home from work. It’s def a winter jacket. I was worried it wouldn’t be warm enough and panic ordered another Pike Bros N1. Won’t need it. This wool is wind proof. I also shaved my beard off this weekend…Instant regret. Worse than my “property of Taylor Swift” tramp stamp. LOL.

In all seriousness, there is no doubt that I'll be wearing that more than anything else this winter. In Chicago when the weather turns, it turns hard.

I am not a big fan of deerskin either, hence opted for the horsehide version

I am on a hard jacket-buying hiatus until next May. I hope until then, it’s too warm to justify a wool jacket to myself.

Also serious: I love that one, not least because it adds a twist of something different in your collection. That’s what attracts me too.
