Great truckers from @Tom71 and @3.14nche in the last pages. Here’s my Brandy Roma Maverick:

First post in a long while for me. We’ve had a couple of really nice summer weather weeks so I haven’t even worn leather since sometime in June. First day back from vacation and it’s cold and cloudy, great timing!

Beautiful jacket and a really nice belt buckle as well.

What a spectacular Type III! The color is Fab - sort of a amber/caramel - I'm jealous and want one even though I have a good assortment of Type III's already. The Indigo is nice too but the other one is a standout. Thanks for posting!

Thanks much!

The colour is even more spectacular in real life. It’s kaki-dyed and then hand painted with a kind of reddish camel. More or less every panel comes out a little different.
(Just like with the beloved FineCreek, the mismatch costs an upcharge… ;)).

Of course, the jacket is still stiff as a board and will need a good deal of adapting to me, especially at the shoulder.

Welcome to the real world again, Hannes!

The Maverick is always a great choice. Given the choice, I’d have specced the new Trucker with snap buttons too. Buttoning through holes with thick leather is just an absolute pain (literall). Also looks a bit cleaner, IMO.

BOOM!

Just landed: Y2/The Shop Steerhide Trucker.

Love the colour contrast between the mismatched panels.
Much thicker than my Indigo Type 1 (attached for comparison) and a very spongy hide.

So far, I love everything about it (so much that I post the pictures, appalling as they are. Zero light outside today).

Those both look great but the new 3 is really great. I didn’t discover them until they were sold out.

This looks really great! I couldn’t get along with the camel suede version. The finished leather looks so much better in terms of structure. I wanted to ask if you still have the indigo shirt from y’2? What size did you opt for? I’m thinking about the olive version…

Yes, it´s pretty special. I had it on my watchlist since TJ posted the first teaser-trailers.

He tries to order stock in all sizes and makes pre-orders in parallel. The later will go for production in ca. spring 26 (this run), but he tries to shortcut these with stock he receives.

I got mine only three weeks after my pre-order. I wasn´t really ready for the expense, but it still was a nice surprise.

Yeah, not a fan of the suede jackets...

I do still have the indigo shirt, and it´s a regular wearer. Very easy to throw on over a T-Shirt when it´s warm and drizzly or you generally are not in 2jacket mood".
I dare say it´s a hair thicker than the Type 1 (it sure has more structure to it).

I have a size 46 and couldn´t size down.

As for the olive shirt, you´re talking the horsehide, right (ther´s also a steerhide one which is ca. 30% cheaper)? I have never handled it in person, but Y2´s "ECO-horse is rumoured to be absolute ******proof.
TJ quotes the hide on the shirt as 1,8-2mm, which must be A LOT OF shirt...

I believe that was on the first runs of that shacket, later and current runs are being stripped down further to around 1.3-1.5mm.

I recall TJ mentioning that the first runs with 1.8-2mm were just too rigid and structured and he felt that being a shacket it should be easier to break in, then iirc he made some batches in 1.6-1.8mm, then he went further to the current 1.3-1.5mm.

Thanks. This is indeed super helpful. Frankly, I have (had) a hard time imagining how a 2mm shirt would perform as an everyday piece.

I really love the structure of my indigo shirt, especially as compared to the more “floppy” Pale Rider, but I wouldn’t need any thicker.

Thanks Tom! That’s helpful. Assuming for new trucker is a 42” I think the 46” might be the way to go. My 42” fit me OK but the suede was just way too flimsy for the cost and the suede Schott type 3 is just tailored better. This was my 42”

If your type 3 is a 44” I’d think I’d take a 44” in the shirt.

I remember that one (and seem to remember you also had a Type 2??). It didn’t look flimsy, but than your shoulders give more structure to the silhouette than mine.

My Truckers are size 44. I could do 42 if I didn’t want to layer.

I agree, though. One up from your preferred size should do. Especially, if your not keen on buttoning up all the time.

Catching up with this thread now! I’m back in the Texas heat after a lovely few weeks of winter in Australia, wearing the new RC Herc. It performed marvelously, though I didn’t get many pics with it.

That looks amazing!! The leather is stunning and the fit is perfect on you, man. I’m kinda regretting not getting the Y2 aviator that was for sale here earlier this year. They seem like a really solid brand.

That's an awesome jacket! It fits you well. Question: is the collar non-standard? The collar looks different on the webpage:
