New-to-me 1970s(?) Oshwahkon in excellent condition. The fit and pattern of this jacket really appeal to me.

Not sure how to think about the leather, though. I absolutely love it, but I'm not sure why. It is thin and shows very minimal graining, and though I have other jackets like that from the 1970s (like Montgomery Wards and Sears), those feel very cheap whereas this does not. This leather is much more substantive with depth and character despite not having the graining or the heft. There's a great hand to it as well and I love the arm rolls.

I'm assuming this is the kind of leather those cheaper makers were trying to imitate?

Whatever way I should think about this, it's real treat for $100 with a loads of life remaining. This will see regular wear.

PS: thanks to @jchance for posting this in Finds and Deals thread.

Shout out to this 90s Gap Trucker. I wanted a lightweight piece of leather to try over the summer and bought this in June. It has a sturdy cotton drill liner.

This guy has very much passed the test. I can wear it all the way up until about 90 F and it's absolutely perfect for a day like today (right around 80).

Not bad for 105 USD all in, though I do wish it had an internal pocket.

Today’s jacket is a Flat Head Cafecto in black Shinki obtained courtesy of @Bender. It is difficult to explain how phenomenal the leather is, but it definitely spoils you. Like donning a cloak of leather butter. Yes, that makes total sense. Not weird in the slightest.

But despite all that buttery goodness, it’s got the most unruly collar. It juts outward in all directions like a weather vane or like Simon le Bon’s hair and jacket circa 1984. Not sure what to do about that.

Paired in today’s photos with a Viberg Halkett in Annonay cool tan. Does “cool” means “nifty” in this case?

Been a while since I was able to put on a jacket at all, thanks to the wrist fracture & cast. Now down to just a removable supportive brace, which I took off for one of the jackets I'll show here today. The splotchy sun/shade made for some poor fit photos, but it's what I have to work with for now. Better ones tomorrow!

First up, a surprising nice and decent fitting AMF-Harley crosszip, found locally size "L"

Then a great NOS size 50 Comet of the valued old Comp-weight cowhide. This will be great to start slowly breaking in over the next few months. Traded for this from a respected FL member.

And not forgetting a nice, "vintage" Carhartt Western shirt, found at the same sale as the AMF H-D jacket. New condition. I do not think these are offered in Carhartt's lineup now, which is too bad for sure.
