Just finished watching Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey and Jude Law. As a fan of Conan Doyle's books, I was prepared to dislike it but I have to admit I quite enjoyed it. I thought Jude Law's performance as Watson was excellent and a lot closer to the original books than other film Watsons. They took some liberties with Holmes and certainly with Irene Adler but an enjoyable film.

Brendan Gleeson is simply the best but Liam Cunningham and Mark Strong are just as faboulous in their own right and Don Cheadle did pretty well too.
