All Akubras hold up well from what i've heard (and experienced with my Federation), and nicer looking is a matter of opinion

Personally, I think the Riverina has more of an 'outdoorsman' look, for fishing, hiking, etc. The Safari is similar with the grommets it has, but has a ribbon which makes it more suited to wearing around town. Though really if I wanted an 'around town' hat i'd pass on anything that had grommets like that, which both hats do. It makes it look too rustic to me, though the Riverina is certainly the more rustic of the two. The Riverina has a 3 inch brim which most would consider pretty wide.

Go with the akubra safari just got one.Real nice hat I like the ribbon on the safari better.
