Why a Leather Jacket?

Leather jackets look cool. Simply as that.

Leather is forever cool. I had a fake leather jacket in jr high (it was The Fonz jacket. Even had "The Fonz" and "Fonzie" plastered all over the liner. I did my best to hide the liner from being seen.) My parents finally got me a real leather jacket my freshman year of high school. A G1 style from JC Penney. I outgrew it in less than two years. I loved leather but didn't really like the fur collar on the jacket, so I didn't really miss wearing it. My freshman year of college I got a leather jacket from Wilson's. Sort of similar to the Fonz style but without the epaulets (and cheesy liner). It was burgundy and I had finally got the kind of leather jacket I wanted. They all got left behind and disappeared (likely thrown out) when I got married and moved out of state at the end of the 1980s.

Fast forward to 2024. The love of leather still persists. My budget could afford exactly what I wanted. So, Johnson Leathers! Now, I'm back in a leather jacket and I plan to wear my "English Field Jacket" as much as possible from now to the grave. Why? Leather is forever cool. Maybe not popular, but always cool. I do dig leather.

Does it look good on me??? At this point in my life, I couldn't care less.
