Stations

I mainly go to the Station Casinos. Boulder, Texas, Santa Fe, etc. Local friendly, family friendly....we will hit The Feast Buffets on an occasional Sunday for our family get togethers, and the Texas has an ice skating rink. Good laughs for when we fall on our rears, knees or heads.

There was a very loose penny mega bucks machine at Boulder Station that I'd hit every payday when I was bankless, then they removed it, I'd always come out with an extra hundred.

I've been to a few of these and liked them a lot. Not certain which ones, Boulder and Sante Fe, I think. One trip out we met up with some friends who live out there and they took us on a whirlwind tour where we gambled only in off-strip local places. We hit 5 or 6 places that night. Really good gambling and nice atmosphere, usually somewhere between Strip and Downtown in terms of ambiance.

Speaking of Station Casinos, no one has mentioned Green Valley Ranch (awesome! This is the only place my MIL will stay anymore on her twice annual trips to Vegas) and Red Rocks (haven't been there yet, but supposed to be very high-end).

The only "extra hundred" I ever walk out with is measured in pounds. Damn buffets.

I stopped by Red Rocks in April. My sister won $800 on the nickel machine. Very nice joint. Sort of like a mega Palms Casino in terms of looks.

Reno is like Lubbock Tx????? There must be a lot of toothless people in Lubbock.

I'm definitely a fan of Foxwoods. It's the biggest casino in the world in terms of floor space for gaming and it's the only place around here that has table poker. It also isn't bad at all that I live 20 minutes away. In fact now that I've read this thread I might head over there this weekend for some craps.

I went to Vegas in November and I must say that I had much more fun gambling at the casinos Downtown than on the strip. I stayed at the Palms and didn't really like their casino but I did go to the Playboy club and it was very classic playboy like to play blackjack with a bunny dealer and bunnies walking around all over the place. I would pick it as my favorite for that factor if it was larger than a few tables.

I did do very well on the slots at Harrah's

We stayed at Fitzgerald's downtown a few years ago and found it to be perfectly acceptable. How much time do you spend sitting in a hotel room in Vegas anyway?
The Nuggett has had a facelift that was completed the last time we were there in March of last year. It looks much more impressive now.
The Freemont Street thing was entertaining enough and we found a store there that sold 24oz bottles of beer for $2. Can't beat that. Those were the only 24oz bottles I've ever seen.

I'll take The Tropicana in Atlantic City, thank you. It seems to be more like Vegas than the other AC casino's and I like the new restaurants.
I was in Vegas a few years ago and there was a small casino just off the old downtown area called Lady Luck, or something like that. Not very clean but the blackjack dealers put the shuffle card deep into the shoe letting card counters like myself have a nice advantage for a while. Unfortunately, the smoking at the table was so thick and bad I had to leave after an hour just to survive !

I can and have, but usually don't any more. It's hard work and I'm usually there for fun. Maybe it's hard because I'm bad at it. I've also never had a lot of success actually winning money counting cards, so what's the point.

The Monte Carlo caught fire on Friday. Still closed on Sunday.
My mum works @ Belegio which is also an MGM prop. It's going to be closed for a few days while they do the official investigation then they will reopen the casino. She doesn't know about the rest of it. Will post the pic I have of the fire @ a later time.

This is the pic, was sent to me from another mobile phone.

Ah roulette.:D I used to play that when I first came to the casino's when I turned 21. I haven't been so lucky as of late. I need to devise a new strategy there.

So the Monte Carlo is still closed????? That's costing some big bucks on daily gaming revenue.
