Zoot Suit

The Zoot doesn't come up in the search engine, so, any of you guys wear one?

Almost bought one in a darkish grey (no pinstripes) . I like the rise and baggy-ness of the pants but I really don't care for the tight at the ankle look.

I see a few of them on the vintage scene - lindy people, mostly - though I've always been curious as to whether they'd ever actually have been worn over here at the time. That's the sort of environment you could at least get away with it though - they're not exactly idea for the office.

Glad I could help you mate, I had prior knowledge of the thread's existence. I've got a couple of zoots here made by my tailor, but right now I can't find any photos. My first was a black one, then later I had a black and white houndstooth coat made to alternate with the black coat, like the one in the movie "Stormy Weather." I've also got one in dark red and another in medium blue. I guess I'll have to hunt up some pictures!

I like the contrast with the white accents best. The tie and hat ribbon really help to highlight the shoes.

That comment on the Ask Andy Forum, exact opposite of my reaction, I loved all the interchangable accessories, but the contrasting white? Nooooooooooooo! So Peter Sellers.

However, the suit, it's style and cut are just impeccable. Compliments to you.
