that's a beautiful piece Bowen ... gorgeous felt

that is one brand that I do not own currently ... I've owned a few in the past ... all amazing hats ... most of them too small and were sold ...
but I kept a Disney box knowing I would own one again one day

that is a wonderful example[/QUOTE.
Greetings Moon et al:
Thanks man for the kind words. Truly appreciated. Yeah, this ones a new felt for me. Camel Hair, so that was the deal maker right there, plus the reed thing. Not sure if it was a Lee felt but Disney certainly did finish a hat with distinction. Box is cool too! Ha. I’ll keep an eye out if i see a good one i’ll let you know. I’m done buying for awhile.
Be well. Bowen

Snow shoveling in a 30's Dobbs in an inky blue felt.

Best, Eric -
I just love this one Eric. That early Dobbs liner is really special. And...inky blue, priceless.

Reminded tonight that my hat proportions are crossing close to "Mugsy" territory. I may have to consider reducing the crown a bit. Or perhaps to crease for more tugboat and pull down the brim? No cigarretes thank you.

Mugsy was always sport'n nice suits and topcoats. He is also my relative stature. Hmmmm...

Amused this evening. Best, Eric-
Don't change a thing, the Mugsy look suits this hat in a big way.

Hey Red not sure how to pull a quote out of a quote (just a hat out of a rat)...arggh...so i’ll freehand it.
Thanks for all your kind and encouraging words. And yes, wouldn’t it be nice if we could cross those two. I can think of some nice combos. Ha
Also, watch out for dem church ladies, ya know? Keep em flyin.
Be well. Bowen

That's so funny! I recently searched out Mugsy myself (by googling "Bugs Bunny Gangster-- I didn't know his name), keeping him in front of me as an example of "not the intended effect" for myself, and as a visual cue (warning?!) for a hatmaker if I go that route.

I've never gotten the Mugsy vibe from your images, if that helps?...

And now you've made me smile. :)

I have to say, your eyes jumped right out at me as well-- in the best way.

What color is the hat?

Nicely refurbished, and has anyone mentioned how well the color suits you? ;)

I like what you did with that one, HJ. The distance shots give a nice perspective. I like the dimensions.
Nice clean mirror in the back bar. Shot it on x2.

What a great hat and crease! You have really made that one nice!
Thanks DD! The crown is a little on the shallow side for my big cranium, but it works. I like the hat.

Lovely velour, Michael. The slightly lighter ribbon shows the blackness of the hat better.

Nice little champ, Michael; goes well with the outfit (of course it does).
Thanks steur.

Finally caught up. Been busy a couple of days. Shot from last friday and from today.

I'm really liking those Battersby hats. Very stylish.

You wear this look well! Very cool!
Thanks Red. They proved their worth when I got caught in a downpour yesterday. I stayed nice and dry.

Already off to a Tuesdillyicious hat day.

@Short Balding Guy, I never got the Mugsy connection either. Always loved the toons with him in it. Just watch out for that rabbit and stay out of the oven!

@fabiovenhorst, love the wide brim on that one. Classic.

@mmbarnes - Matt, that thing is to die for. A vintage Stetsonian is a bucket list hat for me. Someday...

I took some time on my day off yesterday to do some hat work. Currently rebuilding a thin ribbon for my wife. I also spent some time opening the crown, reflanging, and putting a different crease in this Dalton. What was once a C-crown is now a centerdent.
