With airline travel this week to visit the mountains of Western North Carolina, I figured besides a few caps I shoved in my backpack, I would be limited to the one Mallory Ten I would wear on my head during the flight. But then I thought about this Borsalino Featherweight which some time back arrived wrapped up in its “coffin” travel box. I decided to roll it up and pack it in a zip lock bag to bring it along. (As those old boxes are getting fragile) I never got around to switching out from the Mallory.. but now I’m home, I figured today was a good day to unroll it and give it a wear. Here it is immediately after unrolling and hand shaping After spending a week rolled up in a gallon zip lock bag.

Two hat day for me, both of them Wolfbraes. My military colored hat was what I chose for this morning's activities and a lunch date with my wife.

This afternoon my charcoal heather got called up for dog walking duties and enjoying some brisk late fall weather.

Thanks Robert! Looking forward to the pics from the jazz club this weekend.
This getting old malarkey can get rather tedious, I put my phone on charge yesterday evening and then went out without it. No phone no camera, but I do have the pics that Tina took previously.

When I suggested a photo of her in her finery she got all bashful, so I let it be. I have been married long enough to know when it's best to leave things be.

Happens to me all the time Robert. It took me a very long time to get used to even carrying it. My wife used to complain all the time that she would call me when I went to the store and just find my phone ringing in the bedroom.

you looking good today on her phone

Black hat and black tie (the suit is not black) yesterday (probably the same today) in anticipation of the All Blacks big final tomorrow morning (Japan time).

Yes, people did think I was going to a funeral, in spite of the charcoal suit and the skateboard riding cartoon tigers on the tie.
You're right, people still associate black hats with funerals even though there's not a hat in sight at most funerals. You look anything but funereal, although you are probably saving the smile for the moment that Sam Cane holds The Webb Ellis Cup aloft.
We shall be watching the final in a rather splendid pub/restaurant.

It's a former railway station. Something to lift the spirits after The Springboks forgot the script against England.

Joe, you just lifted my spirits, and that's something that I shall be doing when Tina and I dine out this evening while we watch the Rugby World Cup Final. That Borsalino is a beautiful colour, just fabulous.
