Loro Piana today. It's just an OK felt, but Ana was impressed by the Loro Piana brand. Now she says she wants one. I explained that the other hats that I've given her (and never wears) are far superior, but she doesn't care. :)

We saw one snowflake in central Texas and now...we're all going to die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Store shelves are empty. The highways have been destroyed. All communications have been cut off. Wild animals are roaming the streets! Goodbye cruel world!!!!!!!!

Not.

:)

Better get your milk and bread while the stores still have it!:p

Exciting!

I’ve got to think through my heating here in this cheap rental unit just to safeguard my water pipes - I don’t have great heating. I also need a few more blankets unless I want to sleep in my parka.

The most dangerous part about snow/ice in the south is usually roads/drivers and for that reason alone I agree that closing schools is not a bad idea. But of course that causes all kinds of other headaches.

I also feel for lower income families who might not have the personal infrastructure to stay comfortably warm.

Cold weather is serious business and it’s only fun if folks are prepared.

But yeah, I’m excited. 7 degrees, yay!

I'm sure you already know, but open lower cabinet and vanity doors anywhere you have plumbing and crank the heat up to keep those pipes warm as best you can. Try to stay warm if you can and I'll be doin' the same.

I have one gas radiator on the wall and nothing else except little space heaters. I usually turn off all the heat when I sleep but the kitchen plumbing is on the outside wall and that’s a concern when it gets so cold.

I’ll have to run a space heater overnight into the kitchen I guess - but leaving it unsupervised while I sleep in the back room makes me nervous. I’ll probably have to shift my sleeping into the front room on nights below 20.
