I'm a fan of freestanding hat racks, for both hat-hanging and practicing my super-spy technique:

Though if your collection exceeds a half-dozen or so hats you'll need more than one...
I think buying three jackets from the LW sale page has ruined my perception of value. I know an Aero/Goodwear/full price LW is probably worth its cost, but I got the same thing from $300! I'll never be able to convince myself to spend more than twice that much now.
I've got a horsehide A-2 from US Authentic that I'm reasonably pleased with. The leather is pliable and durable, but I think you heard right about the patina, it shows very little grain or character. So far that's resulted in a four-year old jacket that looks brand new, but it might not be what...
Hey, mine was a US-WINGS too. I agree with you on almost every count. Fine leather for the price, certainly comfortable, just too darn baggy. Even their small was too much for my frame. I sold it to a friend who usually wears a large and it looks just about right on him.
That purchase was what...
Take an A-2 and remove the knitting and throat latch. Add side pockets, gussets, side buckles and a shoulder seam. Distress liberally in the sands of Egypt.
How'd I do? I seem to remember explaining these differences to more than one person who thought I was dressing like Indy in my A-2. I...
This thing. It's a little too eccentric for everyday wear/favorite jacket, and I know I'm straying from history with those pockets and color choice, but I've eyed it with envy many times nonetheless.
Actually a 32" sleeve sounds about right. I measured my jacket at 31" to the edge of the leather and just over 33" to the edge of the knit cuffs. What with the sleeve naturally wrinkling and the cuff folding in on itself I bet it wouldn't seem too long at all.
I'll add a recommendation for that Lost Worlds jacket, as I bought one from the same batch awhile back and am quite pleased with it.
I would caution you that it might end up a bit long in the sleeves/body as my size 34 fits my 6' self pretty well. There seems to be a little inconsistency in LW...
I've got a G-1 jacket from flightjacket.com that's missing its original mouton collar. Is there anywhere I can buy a new collar and attach it myself, or (maybe preferable) anywhere I can send the jacket to have one attached?
Thanks!
That's awesome! Of course, I would never quite feel like I was doing that jacket justice unless I was riding a light-cycle...
Nice disc props too, where did those come from?
It's pretty much the same almost every day: Brown fedora, brown leather jacket, brown boots. Sound pretty boring, but I very thoroughly explore the subtle shading options..... er... yeah, that is pretty boring, but I like it! :D
Thanks for the info guys! And that's a great picture, Fletch. Something about this design makes it so much more appealing to me than the B-3s and Irvins I've seen. This jacket is on my list, but I suspect it will be some time before I can afford a repro at lost worlds/buzz rickson prices...
