Nice!
Have you used this? doesn't look like you have yet. I saw one like it in an atique store complete with the "collar" and wondered if it works well. If you you have used it or do so in the future I would love to know how it works.
this is what I was talking about...

This is a bespoke early 1930s single breasted peak-lapel jacket with the button holes on both sides and two buttons stitched together. Note the rolled lapel. nice huh?!
wow, nice to have a family heirloom!
My Great Grandfather was a railroad engineer for the Santa Fe and I have a photo of him in 1926 in which you can see his watch fob draped out of his watch pocket. What I wouldn't give to own that watch! You are very lucky to have a watch from your family...
Never was a dbl breasted...
This is a coveted and hard to find single breasted peak-lapel with button holes on both sides with a double button which goes through both sides. With the lapels rolled the styling is class-A. This style was also popular in the 1920s. I have seen them in films from...
Requesting permision to join the brotherhood...
This is my early 30s light beige Borsolino with brown ribbon and wind trolly with "Bullocks Store for Men" stamped in gold on the sweat band. I sometimes snap the brim down but always wear the crown in a Homberg bash.
Thanks,
The trouble is finding beige wool flannel slacks. I do have a pair of cream though. I just thought that look was more for navy or grey jackets but I'll definitely try it. Thanks!
hard to see from the photo
but it's actually button holes on each side of the jacket and two buttons sewn together. It's single breasted. I've seen examples on 1920's jackets and some early 1930's ones as well. When it arrives I'll post a pic of me wearing it.
Cheers
orphan jacket becomes sport coat
I just picked up this little beauty. It was originally a 3 piece suit but since it is now an orphan it becomes a sport coat by default. I think a nice pair of beige wool flannel trousers would go nicely with this. Any thoughts?
I found a vintage one
recently with a small relief picture of and the words "Avalon Bay" from the early days of Catalina Island. sorry no pic. I also just found a coin caddy, a little round pouch type thingy that is folded to lie flat and carried in the trouser pocket to hold coins I will try...
button fly all the way!
I too used to wear Levi's 501's so there was no adjustment for me. I found a pair of 1930's pants with what appear to be bake-lite buttons. the only bummer is all but 2 of the braces buttons are broken in half with the other half missing. The fly buttons are in tact...
