Thrift store find! Only thing on the jacket indicates a town in Hungary where it was made. Its an eastern European sheep or Yak, or many yaks turned inside out, wool fur on inside same as collar. Any ideas what it is? Not a theater prop, since it is extremely heavy.
Red Wing All Natural Leather Dressing
This is the best one I've used, beeswax based with pine tar, absolutely no petroleum in it. Also cures eczema, added bonus. More pure than most skin creams.
Vanson A-2 Surprise Best 'Hand' of All
When shopping a few weeks ago for a Vanson MC jacket, ran across their A-2in my size and it blew me away, and it has a better "hand" then even Aero's A-2, very heavy and stiff hide, box stitched hanger, authentic hook clasp, and even 'made in usa" Talon...
Thanks
Thanks again Andrew. I'll post a few more photos of the patina of this jacket. I'm working to bring out more of its richness as it had been bone dry. Our climate down here doesn't help. Could use a little GB rain.
When I saw this jacket for the first time, my jaw dropped. Despite its...

There's a heavy growth of green stuff that has grown around the brass, if that helps date it.
Early Aero Label

I'm new to this upload process, hopefully this link will work. Its a close up of the label indicating no "Made in Scotland" and old style print instead of cursive script.
Pre-Scotland Aero Label
I'll try again to upload a photo or two, maybe the problem is on my side. I appreciate your observation. Judging by the Zipper pulls, the wear and tear on the lining and so forth, the 40s or early 50s would appear about right. Its exciting and unexpected to run into one...
Hello,
Its an honor to be back again, and hello to everyone.
I recently acquired an older Aero jacket, very heavy, old patina, front quarter horsehide with the label that has the vintage airplane, car and motorcycle.
This label does not, however, have the "Made in Scotland" or the word...
Photo Bottom of Pg 3 This Thread
Does anyone know who this is, where photo came from? Even though I posted it and found it somewhere on the internet, I can't for the life of me remember what site it was. Would like to research it more. Thanks.
Yen Conversion
I just plugged that in to the Yahoo converter, 5,000 yen equals 43 U.S. dollars, can that be right? If so, then these are original zippers, not current reproductions?? Price is worth it then.
