Depending on the weather, I may bring my Compax Paratrooper and throw it into the bustle basket of my jeep. My plan is to have my Columbia restored by Reading. Once the battle is over stop by I'd love to meet ya and talk bikes!
Finally have my WW2 Columbia Army Bicycle! For Christmas I just got a 1943 Columbia model G-519 Bicycle in very solid and restorable shape! I'll be restoring it this Spring and hopefully have it ready for the Reading Airshow in June. I'll post the pics as I restore it.
Hey Kilroy, you going...
Most likely he did. I've seen 2 unrestored original GI Compax Paras in person and both had the the Westfield Compax traveler's head badge on them. Through all my research into the Compax Sport Travelers and Compax Paras I have never seen a standard Columbia head badge on an original bicycle...
The back fender is actually a New Old Stock (NOS) replacement part for the G519 Military Bicycle. The back fender was torn at the bottom bolt so it couldn't be salvaved and plus the rivet had torn the metal. So I recycled!

Actually none of the Compax Paratrooper or Compax Traveler Bicycles had the standard Columbia Head Badge. They had the Westfield Compax...
I just finished restoring a WW2 Compax Paratrooper Bicycle. It weighs between 40 and 50 lbs and drives like my 1942 Ford gpw jeep.
It has that 60+ year old feel to it and I just love it! The best part is that is collapses into 2 parts and can be stored in my jeep's bustle basket. I'll post...

Just got an email from a Marine in Iraq.......He was interviewed by Fox news and showed them our calendar and he told them that all he wanted for Xmas was a date with Miss November 2007!!! Keep your eyes peeled and let me know if you see the clip!!
Got my Classic Style Magazine the other day and the advertisement looks great!! Hopefully it'll be the right market and we'll earn some coin for Fisher House Charities!
A 43 is exceptional! Not many left here in the States. Most of the 43 &44s went over to Europe and were left there. Lots of 42's and 45's her in the good old US of A!
Thanks again for your support!
